Allison’s party

Today we helped Allison celebrate her 2nd birthday. The girls (and mommies) have been friends since Molly was 3 months old!

As always, Molly loves cake. Molly's reflection does as well.

I made Allison a ribbon shirt and bow. Allison loved the bow and sported a double-bow look the rest of the party!

Here's a close-up of the ribbon shirt.

And although Molly has already modeled her shirt at Aunt Caroline's party, here's a close-up of her ribbon shirt.

Caroline’s party

Friday night we celebrated Caroline's graduation/18th birthday with a very large party (mostly teenagers, only a few of us old fogies).

We spent much of our time on the back porch, where Chad and I got a break as Molly was entertained by Aunt EA and lots of jumping.

Molly was happy to see Aunt Caroline, but she of course didn't stop eating cake. Nothing's better than cake.

Molly made sure that she was at the center of attention, and the circle, as much as possible.

Another fun activity was to run around the house with Aunt EA.

Don’t you want to picnic with me?

Easter morning was a lot of fun, especially due to the jelly beans, as Jen previously wrote about.

Here's a video with some of the best clips from Molly's second birthday party a couple of months ago, which Jen already talked about.

Bubble burst painting

Posted in Kid crafts, Molly, Playdates on May 12th, 2009 by jen – 5 Comments

This morning I hosted a bubble burst painting playdate. After being rescheduled twice, it was finally a nice day to be outside! Molly did a great job. It was a good thing the bubble soap was only colored with food coloring since she liked to put the wand right up to her lips.

There was a lot of mommy help needed with painting.

There was even time for sliding and car rides.

Everyone had a great time and went home with some beautiful paintings!

If you are interested in trying bubble painting, mix 15 drops of food coloring with 4 oz. of bubble soap and you're set!

Dutch Wonderland

Today we ventured to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA along with a couple of Molly's friends from playgroup (and their parents). Molly was not into most of the rides, especialy the ones she had to ride by herself, but had a great time on the boat and train rides.

Here she is on her one and only solo ride.

We went for a ride on the monorail and got the best seats on the train - all the way in the back. We got to look out the back window like an old-fashioned station wagon.

The one fast ride Molly really wanted to do was the Fun Slide.

Keira won the award for the bravest kid today. She rode multiple rides by herself, and even had a pony ride!

And there's no better way to end the day than with ice cream!

It was a very successful first trip to the "Kingdom for Kids" and Molly (and mommy) crashed on the car ride home.

Sadie’s party

Last Saturday, Molly and I went to her friend Sadie's 2nd birthday party.

Molly enjoyed the cake and ice cream and insisted that it was "delicious!" She also surprised me by eating cherry tomatoes off my plate. So, she's had raw vegetables and dip several times with lunch this week!

The rain let up before the party so the kiddos could play outside some too.

Molly and Sadie had fun running up and down the hill in the backyard. Sadie kept saying "Come on, Molly!"

A “non-mommy” haircut

Posted in Molly on May 1st, 2009 by jen – 2 Comments

Molly got her first "non-mommy" haircut yesterday. Her hair was looking a bit out of control, and I did not want to tackle the curls or try to add a little bit of layers, so we went to the mall. There were a few tears shed as it started, and then as the lady was in her face to cut her bangs, but overall Molly did a great job.

As you can see, they use the same bribing techniques that we do to get Molly to sit still...cartoons!

Molly did so well that we headed to the playground and ate a treat, jelly beans!

Ready for summer

Molly has been pulling my sunglasses out of my purse to play with, so I decided to pull hers out so she doesn't break mine. Last year, the glasses didn't stay on for more than 30 seconds, but now she has decided that it is fun to wear her sunglasses all the time.

We got lots of smiles today as we walked around the lake when they saw Molly in her sunglasses, and now her hat!
