Jen already told you about Molly's new big girl room, but I thought you'd like to see some video of her first few minutes in the room. I think she likes it.

Molly loves to sing and dance. Here she's listening to music playing from our AppleTV while pictures from our photo album scroll along the screen (which is why she occasionally says she sees people on the screen). And yes, those are my slippers she's wearing at the beginning.

Here's a bit of Molly playing while we were in Savannah. It's a bit random, but it gives you a good idea of our day-to-day these days.

“Let’s find baby ister”

Molly occasionally will tell me, "Let's find baby ister" and then proceed to lift up my shirt. She'll point to my belly button and say, "There she is!" We also talk about how big mommy's belly is, and she'll lift her shirt and say that she has a big belly too.

Today we had our last follow-up ultrasound. We took Molly to this one. She liked pointing out baby ister's mouth and nose. Yet again, everything looked great. The biggest surprise was when the ultrasound tech told us that Baby Girl is measuring 6 lbs. 6 oz. My response was, "Already?!" That explains those sweet chubby cheeks!

Books and Bows in Bed

Molly has been doing great sleeping in her big girl bed. On Saturday morning I went in to get her, and she had a book in bed with her. Seems as though she wanted to do a little early morning reading. However, Sunday's nap tops it all. Chad went in to get Molly up, and this is what he found in bed with her! No wonder it took her over 2 hours to fall asleep.

Over half of the bows on her bow holder were gone. There were more bows under the covers, one was inside her pillowcase, and several were under her bed. We're learning that discipline can be hard sometimes when the action is quite funny!

Blueberry Ice cream Sundae Playdate

Posted in Molly, Playdates on August 1st, 2009 by jen – 3 Comments

In honor of National Blueberry Month, we hosted a Blueberry Ice cream Sundae Playdate on Tuesday. I made homemade blueberry (from the blueberries we picked on our Memphis trip) and vanilla ice creams and had various sprinkles and toppings.

Everyone enjoyed eating ice cream before lunch!

After everyone left, Molly snuck back into the kitchen to eat more toppings. This is how I found her! And then she insisted on having sprinkles on her plate for lunch.

Molly’s big girl room

We've been working for the past few weeks to turn our once Office/Guest room into Molly's big girl room. We finally finished the transition today. Chad made these panoramic photos so you could get the feel of the room.

Chad worked all week to sand and paint these formerly stained table and dresser. They turned out great! I originally volunteered to do this, but the lady at Sherwin Williams vetoed that.

After Molly woke up from her nap, we showed her the room, and all she wanted to do was play in there!

She is now asleep in her new bed. She did great with the bedtime routine, so let's hope she sleeps tight until morning! You can see more detailed pictures here.

Tire playground

Yesterday we met Jake and Josie at Patapsco Valley State Park Tire Playground. The kids had a great time climbing through and over the tires. They played hard and only after an hour were tired (ha!) and ready to head home.

Savannah trip

We spent an extra long 4th of July weekend in Savannah. Molly did incredibly well on the 11+ hour drive. We didn't even have to use the portable DVD player! Chad's Grandaddy lives on the water, which makes for lots of fun and relaxation.

Molly had a great time exploring baby crabs,

gazing into the water and watching boats ride by,

running on the dock,

and most importantly, relaxing with Daddy in the hammock.

We saw a lot of family since most of Chad's family lives in Savannah, but I think Molly had the best time with cousin Aidan.

And Molly was still looking as cute as ever!

Memphis trip

Last week, Molly and I ventured to Memphis for a visit with G'Mom, Grampa, Aunt 'Chelle, and Emmie. If you saw me in the airport, you would have thought I was a crazy woman - toddler in stroller, diaper bag, purse, carseat in carrying case, and hugely pregnant! We spent 4 days visiting and had lots of adventures.

First we painted plates at Paint a Piece using paint brushes, hands, and feet.

Then we went swimming in a neighbor's pool. Molly's favorite part was squirting Grampa with the water gun.

We started out our second full day with some blueberry picking at Nesbit Blueberry Plantation. Molly did a great job and found lots of good blueberries hidden on the underside of the bushes.

That evening, after eating some home-made blueberry ice cream, Mom, Michelle and I combined all of our craft talents and worked together to make a tag blanket for baby girl #2.

Any time Emmie was playing on the floor, Molly liked playing with her. I hope this is a sign of how great of a big sister she will be!

There are a lot more pictures from our trip. You can view them here.
