October 2006

While Jen's parents were in town (they came in in September, so this story began there), they also brought our new baby girl an afghan made by Jen's great grandmother Nana, which was given to Jen when she was a baby.

Of course, we had to get a picture of the four of us. Jen's new bench made the perfect setting.

Chad and two friends from Bible study - Jen (no, not that Jen) and Kathy - ran in the Baltimore Half Marathon. Jen (yes, Jen Sellers) and Kathy's husband Joel tagged along to cheer us on. Here's Joel pointing out Gerry Sandusky and Kate Amara of WBAL, TV 11 News (the local NBC affiliate) as they try to figure out which of the three of us will take home the gold.

Meanwhile Jen went to talk to a gecko about some car insurance.

At the finish line, Jen and Joel were very impressed that they were calling out the names of finishers. They figured it must have been some high-tech system that read the chips on our running shoes and displayed who was coming. Then they found out the high-tech system was actually a guy with binoculars.

And here are the three racers after a great run. Personal bests all around (well, it was Chad's first half marathon, but at least he beat his goal).

This past Sunday Chad's parents and sister joined Glen Mar. Now we're all official members.
