A lot has happened, which you probably know if you've been checking the pictures and video. Christmas was a whirlwind with lots of activity. The winter's been a bit calmer, though Molly's still growing incredibly fast. She's starting to take her first steps and "talks" a lot (though a few sounds resembling words, including Da Da, are frequently used appropriately). Also, note that we've added an RSS feed to the Digital Scrapbook, so those of you more technically inclined can keep up with up more easily.

It's crazy to think that Molly will be 10 months old on Wednesday! She is starting to understand us a little, and will crawl over to you, or follow you to her room or for a bath, if you ask her to; though sometimes she "walks" to her room (with help, of course). Often, she does not like to put her toys down, so she'll crawl around the room and pull up with them in her hands. Because she plays with toys in each hand, she will pull away from the table and balance on her own. She's probably up to 15 seconds of standing like a big girl. We got some video of it, so make sure to check it out. We're slowly introducing more "adult" food to her. She does well with green beans, crackers, chicken and peaches. I've tried introducing a sippy cup and a straw to her, but as of now her only interest is chewing on them, not drinking, so that challenge continues. We had a few warmer days earlier in the month, so Molly and I ventured to a playground with some friends. She LOVED swinging! The picture doesn't show it because it's really hard to swing a baby, and take a picture at the same time. I even stopped by the playground a second time that week just so we could swing again. :)

She got lots of great toys, a few books, baby blocks, and some cute winter clothes. Of course, she liked playing with the boxes and ribbon more than some of the toys. Amazingly, she didn't really go for any of the trees or ornaments. Molly is now on a roll now with this teething thing and has three more teeth making their way through on the top. She also like to follow us around from room to room. Although sometimes she gets stuck when we hop over the baby gates, but when we forget to close them - watch out!

Molly has hit lots of milestones in the past few weeks. She finally got the hang of crawling. She saw some shoes and made a b-line for them. :) She also woke up two weeks ago with two bottom teeth! We keep trying to get a clear picture of them, but she doesn't like you to force her to open her mouth in order to see them, or sit still so the picture isn't blurry. She's learned to pull up on things too. We now have to make sure things are out of her reach, especially computer cords and the mail. :)

Just wanted to give a quick report on Molly's rapid progression. In the past few weeks she's started crawling, begun pulling up (which she loves to do), and has gotten her first two teeth. I figure she'll be doing long division by Mardi Gras and I'll start her programming around Easter.

Molly is soo close to crawling. She'll get up on her hand and knees, move each hand once, then fall back down on her belly. She gets around pretty good doing a one-armed army crawl. It's fun to watch her when she seeing something that she really wants and is on the move! We've started her on some fruits and vegetables. So far we've attempted bananas, sweet potatoes, applesauce, green beans, and apricots. Some days she does better than others, even with foods I know she loves.

Happy early Thanksgiving. Due to other constraints, we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Batson side of the family early. We all met up in Butler, TN, as it was as close to equal driving distance from all of us as we could get. As always, pictures and video are available.

Molly went to her first Trunk-or-Treat at church today. She even took second place in her age group in the costume contest thanks to her very cute lamb costume.

Molly is doing very well sitting up on her own now, which has made playing on the floor more fun. We started her on solid foods last weekend - make sure you check out that video. She is also rocking back and forth on her hands and knees - it won't be too long before she's crawling! We also have more pictures of the kitchen remodel.

Molly took her first plane ride to Alabama to see all the family over Labor Day weekend. A good time was had by all, and it was great to see everybody.
