Bottle Buddy

One of Leah’s end-of-year projects for 2nd grade was to create a bottle buddy. The kids created a buddy at home, while researching their famous person and writing a report at school.

Leah (with help from Jen) worked diligently on her buddy for weeks and did a great job. Here’s Leah’s completed bottle buddy of Serena Williams.

Hi, I stumbled upon your family page on google while researching ideas for a Black history month project my son was assigned for school. I came across your daughters Serena Williams project and I was blown away! The detailing was amazing. I was wondering if you can share where you purchased the arms and shoes, and what was used to make the head and facial features. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance 🙂

The arms for the Serena Williams bottle buddy are made out of air-dry clay from the craft store. After they were molded and dry (which took several days), we painted them and hot glued them to the bottle. The shoes, racquet, and ball are all toys made for American Girl dolls. I hope this helps.
