Little girl’s purse

Posted in Sewing on April 29th, 2010 by jen – 2 Comments

When I saw this tutorial for a little girl's purse, I knew I had to make one! We had a birthday party coming up, so I made this one for the 3 year old.

I also made an apron for the birthday girl. I just couldn't pass up making one out of this oh-so-cute fabric!

I'm linking up to Strut Your Stuff Thursday at Somewhat Simple so you can see other crafters newest creations.

Leah continues to become more mobile by the day. She's started scooting around (as this video shows), and has become very good at it. She also shows sign of crawling soon, but it hasn't happened yet.

Celebrating with music

Molly celebrated one of her best friend's 3rd birthday at Olenka School of Music. Here is the playgroup drum line.

The kids marched around the room in thier own music parade,

drummed some more,

and played with a parachute.

Happy 3rd birthday, Keira!

Molly clearly enjoyed the cake. This was after eating the top half of a cupcake too!

Easter morning was again lots of fun. Before heading off to church, Molly had fun with Easter baskets. Warning, this video's kind of long so it may take a minute to download if you're Internet connection is slow.

Letter of the week – T

We began our T week reading The Little Engine That Could,

then making our T for train.

Molly's concenrating very hard inserting toothpicks into dotted shapes.

We met some friends for a playdate at a recycled tire playground to celebrate Earth day.

Molly continued to celebrate Earth Day by creating her own Spring tree.

We finished our week with some turtle learning. This was Molly's first experience with size sorting. She did well, but we'll definitely work on this again.

While Jen's family was in town for Molly's party, we also had lots of fun just playing. Emmie is getting much bigger, and can now do things like roll a soccer ball with us.

Recycled tire playground

The girls and I met some friends for a playdate at the recycled tire playground at Patapsco Valley State Park to celebrate Earth day.

The slides (and trading sunglasses!) were the big hit of the day.

Keira, Molly, Sadie, and Lucy loved swinging on the tire swing all together!

And although not pictured, all four younger siblings were really there. Next time, we'll make sure to get a picture of their smiling faces too!

We talked about Molly's 3rd birthday party here previously, but here's the video evidence of the whole cake/singing thing. Make sure you watch the whole thing, to see why the singing gets repeated.

Leah's started eating solid foods. This video is of her first meal (which was admittedly a month ago). She now eats lots of different mashed up things, most of which sound very gross, but she seems to like them.

Scootin’ and sittin’

Leah scoots around pretty well now. One of her favorite places to scoot to is under the coffee table. I don't know what it is about our coffee table; Molly liked to play under it too!

She's getting closer and closer to crawling. She started to army crawl (as seen in this video), and she's started getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. We already can't count on her to be where you put her down and soon she's going to be following us around!

And now that she's sitting up, playing has become a lot more fun!
